The purpose of this assignment is to have students put themselves into the story Wonder. This book has six different narrators, all with different points of view. By having the students position themselves as their own character in Wonder they are showcasing their understanding of the setting of the story, the different characters, and the multiple points of view. This assignment is aligned to CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.5.6 and CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.5.3.

The purpose of this assignment is to have students use the book Wonder to create a podcast of themselves interviewing a character of their choice. This assignment allows students to take the text and put in into a multimedia setting, to portray the tone and meaning of the text. They can use their voices, music, and sound effects to showcase their ability to do this. They also will be showing their independent comprehension of the text by creating appropriate interview questions for the character they choose. This assignment is aligned to CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.5.7 and CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.5.10.
