The Day the Crayons Quit

Digital Storytelling

The Day the Crayons Quit from Afton Crowley on Vimeo.

I decided to create a digital story for this book because that is clearly the best option! There are SO many terrific personalities in this story that need to be read aloud. Everytime I read this book I get very animated in my head so I knew right away that I needed to create a digital story. My creation of this was another story... I am currently working on my relatioship with technology. I'll leave it at that. Overall, I really enjoyed creating this piece. Enjoy!

I knew right away I wanted to create my inforgraphic with the theme of empathy. This storybook revolves aorund the idea of seeing things through another person's point of view. I included various facts about empathy and the definition for students to make connections. While this theme is obvious to adults, students sometimes have harder time seeing this. When you emphasize the presence of empathy it makes it easier for the students to reflect these traits in their daily lives.
I really enjoyed these books, they have so many great messages that students can take.
