The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

The book Thief is a young adult novel Set in WWII Germany.  The tale Narrated by death, follows the story of foster child Leisel Meminger as she grows close to her foster Father, navigates allied bombing and keeps two important secrets.

PART ONE: Written Response

Purpose: 
The Book Thief is a critically acclaimed Young-Adult novel that is read all over the world.  However it was originally marketed to adults.  Some argue that because of its subject matter, it should be classified as an adult, not a young adult book.  Write a letter to the district's literacy committee (who decides what books students can be required to read in class) arguing for or against allowing students to read this book.




PART TWO: Podcast

Purpose: Create a podcast in which you interview a character from the novel.  The podcast should portray insight into a character's thoughts, into events from the book, or Discuss reactions to the novel.

PART THREE: Digital Story Telling

Purpose: Create A Book Trailer for "THe Book Thief" That captures the tone of the book and succinctly introduces the storyline.

PART FOUR: InfoGraphic

Purpose: Create an infograph that investigates a historical aspect found within "The Book Thief."
