Part 1 Written Response
Purpose:
Throughout the novel Never Fall Down, the main character Arn constantly experiences and witnesses many horrifying tragedies that would cause many people in his situation to lose hope and become depressed. In 2-3 paragraphs describe the mechanisms that Arn uses to help him forget about his situation and to remain positive. Cite examples from the book to back up your arguments.

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this project is to have the student step into the shoes and record diary entries as if they were the main character in the story. The student should address turning points in the novel with each diary entry.
The purpose of this activity is to create a video or trailer that advertises the novel as if it were going to be made into a movie. This trailer should intrigue the viewer by capturing the main parts of the plot without giving away the conclusion.
