Little Bear
Project by Jenna Contreras

Infographic

While the topic of the moon landing cannot be found in my mentor text, the ideas of it certainly can be. In one segment of the book, Little Bear takes a trip "to the moon," where he finds creatures who look just like the ones he knows from Earth. I decided to take a more literal approach to his space travel in order to find out what Apollo 11, the first lunar landing mission, was all about.
The aspect of my infographic that I paid most attention to was the color scheme. I picked blue because the sky is blue and, when seen from space, most of the Earth. I wanted to make sure that the shades throughout the infographic worked well with each other and didn't seem too overwhelming. The sky is very calming to me so I wanted to portray that with the colors in the final product. I also tried to stick with more cartoon-y pictures in order to appeal to the kids who might be reading it. Cartoons are easier to understand and, similarly, a lot more fun to look at. I used the same font throughout the infographic, except for the title, in order to create a cohesive piece. Even though the content of each segment is different, they still flow nicely into one another due to the standard font. The font of the title is different because I wanted to make sure it was set apart from the rest of the information; this way, it is clear what the infographic is about.
