Podcast: I am Malala Radio Announcement
Purpose:  In the book, Malala and Fazullah have radio announcements and broadcasts voicing their opinions. Students will have to do create a radio announcement by either arguing for or against the unfair treatment of taking away girls' education. 

Prompt: Now that you have read up to how Malala spoke out against Fazullah even though she was afraid. Your jobs are to do the same. Picking a side either for or against girls' education, create a radio announcement in the form of a podcast. You must be able to represent the opposing sides beliefs as well as your own argument.

Argumentative Infographic: 
Purpose:
Students must pick an argumentative topic and choose one side. Students must research the topic and represent their claims with an infographic. Students must cite the information they find at the bottom of the page. 

Prompt: Similar to the podcasts, pick one argumentative topic you feel passionate about create a infographic that lays out one side of that argument. This can be about anything that has two sides to it, pick one side and focus on that. You will need to do some research. At the bottom of your infographic, remember to cite the resources you used.

Digital Storytelling: Character Development Movie
Purpose:  Students will create a movie based around Malala. They will be asked to show events in the storyline that may have caused Malala to change, causing her to be a dynamic character. 

Prompt: Now that you know the definitions of a flat/round character. Your job is to pick a character in the story and show whether he/she is flat or round. Create a movie and make sure to include events in your movie.

Written Response: Malala's Nobel Peace Prize Speech Response

Purpose: Students will have just started the autobiography. They will then be asked to watch her peace prize speech to try to understand her better. This will also help to create a connection that will get the students more engaged with her story. 

Prompt: Malala Yousafazi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. As a winner, she gave a speech to the United Nations about her beliefs on education. Following along with your transcript of the speech. Choose something one quote from the speech that you found meaningful and memorable. Write a response about why you the particular quote you picked had a lasting impression on you.
