Gordon Parks: How the Photographer Captured Black and White America, by Carole Boston Weatherford
Project by Rachel Hudson

Digital Storytelling - Gordon Parks: How the Photographer Captured Black and White America

I chose to create a digital story to respond to a book about the great photographer Gordon Parks. I was inspired by the way the illustrator captured the emotion and the message of the story. The drawings that I created are based off of the illustrations from the book. At the end of the video I show the actual photograph of Ella Watson in American Gothic because I did not want my simple drawings to take away from the gravity of the story's message and the artistry of Parks' work. In order to show the parts of dialogue in the story I changed my voice. Overall, I enjoyed working in WeVideo.
