Welcome!
I wanted to design my multiliteracies unit for a younger age range of students so I chose to create a project series for a second grade classroom. I chose the text Dinosaurs Before Dark, by Mary Pope Osborne. I selected this book because it is the first in the Magic Tree House series, which was my favorite series when I was in second grade. These stories have a very structured and stable plot, which is what I focused on for this literacy series, and cover many different cultural and scientific concepts and new vocabulary that could also be used for instruction.
